Random String Generator API

Random strings from chosen character sets (or a custom alphabet), each character drawn uniformly with a cryptographic random source.

Generate random strings of letters, digits and symbols, or from your own alphabet. Uses your browser's secure random generator with no modulo bias.

Input

Send these as a JSON object. Unknown fields are rejected.

length: Characters per string (1 to 1024). (integer, 1 to 1024, default 16)
count: How many strings (1 to 1000); length × count may not exceed 100,000. (integer, 1 to 1000, default 1)
lowercase: Include a–z. (boolean, default true)
uppercase: Include A–Z. (boolean, default true)
digits: Include 0–9. (boolean, default true)
symbols: Include ASCII punctuation symbols. (boolean, default false)
custom: Extra characters to add to the pool, e.g. äöü; with every set switched off this is the whole alphabet (e.g. ACGT). Whitespace is ignored. (string, up to 1000 characters, default "")
