}Frequently asked questions
How is the 50–950 scale made?
Each step has a fixed perceptual lightness in OKLCH, modelled on Tailwind CSS v4's palette, and keeps your colour's hue. Chroma tapers towards the lightest and darkest steps and is reduced where needed so every swatch fits in sRGB.
Which harmony should I use?
Analogous and monochromatic palettes feel calm and are easy to use. Complementary and split-complementary give strong accents. Triadic and tetradic are lively, so pick one dominant colour and use the others sparingly.
How do I use the Tailwind export?
For Tailwind CSS v4, paste the @theme block into your main CSS file and use classes like bg-brand-500. For v3, paste the colours object into theme.extend in tailwind.config.js.
Are the palette colours accessible?
Harmonies are about hue, not contrast, so always check text against its background. As a rule of thumb, text from steps 700–950 on 50–100 backgrounds usually passes WCAG AA; use the contrast checker to be sure.
