Parse any user agent string into browser and version, engine, operating system, device type and known bots such as Googlebot, GPTBot and ClaudeBot.
How to use the User Agent Parser
- Paste a user agent string, for example from a server log, or press Use my user agent to read your own browser's.
- Read the browser, rendering engine, operating system, device type and any bot that was recognised.
- Check the notes for things the string cannot tell you, such as Windows 10 versus 11.
- Press Show client hints to see the more detailed values your browser reports through User-Agent Client Hints, where supported.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Windows 11 show as Windows 10 or 11?
Windows 11 browsers still send Windows NT 10.0, the same as Windows 10. Only User-Agent Client Hints can tell them apart: a platformVersion of 13 or higher means Windows 11.
Why do Chrome versions end in .0.0.0?
Chrome's user agent reduction freezes the minor version numbers, the macOS version (10.15.7) and the Android model (shown as K) to make fingerprinting harder. The full details are available through client hints.
Can I trust a user agent that says Googlebot or ClaudeBot?
No. Any program can send any user agent. To confirm a crawler is genuine, check the request's IP address with a reverse and forward DNS lookup, or against the IP ranges the operator publishes.
Why can't it detect Brave or Arc?
Some Chromium browsers deliberately send exactly the same user agent as Chrome, so they cannot be told apart from the string alone.
Is my user agent sent anywhere?
No. Parsing happens in your browser. Your own user agent is only read when you press the button.
