Days Until Countdown API

Days (and a days/hours/minutes/seconds countdown) until a date, or until the next New Year, Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, US Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Count down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to any date, with presets for Christmas, Easter, Halloween and more, and a link to share your countdown.

Send these as a JSON object. Unknown fields are rejected.

date

Target date as YYYY-MM-DD. Give this or preset. (string, up to 10 characters)

preset

Instead of a date: the next occurrence (on or after today) of a holiday. (string, one of new-year, valentines, easter, halloween, thanksgiving, christmas)

time

Target time of day as HH:MM (24-hour). Defaults to 00:00. (string, up to 5 characters, default "00:00")

timeZone

IANA time zone the target date and time are in, and in which 'today' is judged, e.g. Europe/London. (string, up to 64 characters, default "UTC")

now

ISO 8601 instant to count from, e.g. 2026-10-20T12:00:00Z. Defaults to the current time. (string, up to 40 characters)

title

Optional event name used in the text summary. (string, up to 80 characters)
