Look up a domain's DNS records through public resolvers: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, CAA and SOA, with TTLs and plain notes on SPF and DMARC records.
How to use the DNS Lookup
- Enter a domain name, such as example.com. A full URL works too; only the host name is used.
- Press Look up. PithLab's server asks public DNS resolvers (Cloudflare and Google) for each record type.
- Read the records grouped by type, with how long resolvers may cache each one (the TTL).
Examples
Input
example.com
Output
A, AAAA, NS, SOA and TXT records, with MX if mail is set up
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see different results from my own computer?
Your computer may use a different resolver, or have older answers cached until their TTL runs out. This tool asks Cloudflare and Google's public resolvers, so it shows what most of the internet sees right now.
How long do DNS changes take to show up?
Until the old record's TTL expires in each resolver's cache. A record with a TTL of 3600 can take up to an hour to change everywhere. Lower the TTL a day before a planned move to make the switch faster.
Can I look up internal or private domains?
No. Lookups go to public resolvers only, so names that exist only inside a company network won't resolve.
Is my lookup stored?
No. The domain is sent to PithLab's server to run the lookup and isn't logged or kept.
