Frequently asked questions
Is 25% off plus 10% off the same as 35% off?
No. The second discount applies to the already reduced price. 80 less 25% is 60, and 60 less 10% is 54, a total saving of 32.5%, not 35%.
Does the order of stacked discounts matter?
Not for percentage discounts: 10% then 25% gives the same final price as 25% then 10%. Order does matter when one of the discounts is a fixed amount off.
How do I work out a discount by hand?
Multiply the price by 1 minus the discount. For 30% off 59.99: 59.99 × 0.70 = 41.99.
