About the Pomodoro Timer

A Pomodoro timer with adjustable work sessions, short and long breaks, a long break interval, auto-advance, a session counter and an alarm sound.

How to use the Pomodoro Timer

  1. Keep the classic settings (25 minute work sessions, 5 minute short breaks, a 15 minute long break after every 4 sessions) or change them.
  2. Press Start to begin a work session. When it ends a beep plays and the timer moves on to the right kind of break.
  3. Turn on auto-advance to start each next phase automatically, or press Start yourself each time. Skip moves on early without counting the session.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

A time management method by Francesco Cirillo: work with full focus for a set time (traditionally 25 minutes), take a short break, and after four sessions take a longer break. The fixed rhythm makes it easier to start and to keep going.

Does a skipped session count towards the long break?

No. Only work sessions that run to zero are counted, so skipping ahead doesn't bring the long break closer. Reset sets the counter back to zero.

Does it keep time if I switch tabs?

Yes. Each phase stores the moment it ends, so the countdown is exact even when the browser slows a background tab. The tab title shows the time left and the current phase.
